EVENT OVERVIEW
Free Legal Aid: A Resounding Success for the Community
Led by SK Chairperson Kyla Capangyarihan Fernandez and the Committee on Gender and Development under SK Kagawad Sheena Mae Marquez, the activity aimed to make legal aid accessible — especially for those who cannot afford private legal services. It was open to all genders and ages, with special recognition of women’s rights.
In celebration of Women’s Month 2026, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Mapulang Lupa, in partnership with Ubaña Cajucom Law Firm and the Public Attorney’s Office – Valenzuela, successfully conducted a two-day free legal consultation open to all residents of the barangay.
📅 DAY 1
- One-on-one legal counseling (family, labor, property, criminal cases)
- Affidavit drafting assistance
- PDS (Personal Data Sheet) & SALN preparation
- High participation — residents lined up as early as 1:00 PM
📅 DAY 2
- Continued legal counseling for complex cases
- Affidavits & other legal documents (demand letters, simple contracts)
- Weekend schedule – more working residents were able to attend
- Legal orientation on women’s rights and protection orders
